During our daily lives, there are rarely significant pressure fluctuations in the air above common noises, but in special cases it happens.

Loudspeakers are synonymous with audio reproduction and are widely used to play sounds people want to hear. Loudspeakers have also been used for the opposite purpose, to attenuate noise that people may not want to hear.
