The proposal for the new headquarters of the Karol Szymanowski Philharmonic in Kraków has been awarded an Honourable Mention in the international competition, ranking among the 5 finalists out of more than 40 submitted entries.

The project was developed by a multidisciplinary team led by architects Maher Matar from SBS Engineering and Manuel Roque from Pitágoras Arquitetos, based on a strong integration between Architecture and Acoustics from the conceptual stage onwards — a key factor in the creation of spaces dedicated to music.
In a demanding urban context, the proposed solution organises the building around the concert hall, protected from external noise and supported by a rigorous acoustic strategy, combined with a clear and efficient functional layout.

InAcoustics developed the Acoustics design in partnership with Kahle Acoustics, contributing to the coordination between the architecture studios and promoting an integrated approach from the earliest stages of development.
